Life Community Services has been selected as beneficiary of the Algoa Cares Garden Route Charity Golf Day, to be hosted at the George Golf Club on August 23, 2024.

What a blessing to look back and say we have come through many “dangers, toils and snares” but the Lord has proved faithful when our faith failed.
At the start of 2021, as we drove around and looked at the communities of George, one could see the incredible need for Jesus in peoples’ lives. With that said, the practical side of reaching these hundreds and possibly thousands of adults and children can seem like an impossible task..
The weekend of the 8-9 May 2021 was an absolute blast for 25 Men who had an adventure through the Baviaans. To experience the trip on any day is great, but to experience the drive and the Baviaans in the rain, was a once in a life time moment.
On Saturday, 15 May 2021, we had the first Community Market at the Life Village! It was a day filled with loads of families, fun and of course food.
The day was an unbelievable success as we saw 665 people from all over George to celebrate the Community...
When is the best time to plant a seed? 20 years ago. When is the second-best time to plant a seed? Today! Life Community Services is a thriving NPO that began 20 years ago. As we plan and look towards the next 20 years, we are asking you to plant with us in the future of hundreds of children in George, South Africa. Your seed will go towards sharing the love of Jesus with children, giving the children an education and food to sustain.
It has truly been a year of challenges for all of us all over the world. BUT it has been a year of opportunity as never before. The amount of miracles we witnessed day by day has been astounding. One thing that is evident in this time is that we are not alone and that the Lord is in control....
The Blanket Drive for 2000 blankets that Russel Barends has initiated in partnership with us and Eden FM is a great initiative for individuals, families, small groups and businesses to get involved. Summer is starting later and later in George and surrounds, and well it is still cold, we would love to bless these children who still arrive in shorts and ripped jerseys and no shoes to our food stations with a blanket to keep warm...
We approach a time when we literally “start coming out of our cocoon”, after the severe lock down on the 26th of March 2020. Many were affected, not so much directly contracting the virus, but with the devastation of fear it brought into the lives of people as well as the economic meltdown because of the lock down. The Lord graciously, miraculously sustained us as we DAILY experience His Intervention in the ministry.
We are all caught in the event called the Covid-19 virus Pandemic. For us at LIFE Community Services it is almost ethereal. You look around at staff who don’t quite understand but sense it’s serious but don’t know what to do? Children who have no concept but to be happy to have a longer holiday? Other people who meet, have coffee, visit, etc. as though it’s just another day?...
2020 has started off with a blast and we now have 7 FULL classes! Four years ago we started with 13 grade 1 learners and one grade one class. Going into this year, we have two grade 1 classes, two grade 2 classes, two grade 3 classes and our one grade 4 class. Each of them are full, which make LCA filled to capacity with 175 learners. It was such a wonderful and blessed moment to see all the excited parents and first time learners dressed in their new school uniforms.
Come and have some fun in the sun with Elvis Blue and us on the 28 December 2019. It’s going to be an incredible day for family and friends to come together and enjoy some of the best of South Africa’s local artists. See you there!

Christmas and the holiday festivities are upon us. Can you believe that 2019 is drawing to a close? Life has had a fun and eventful 4th term, in which we have seen a youth group start, the property at the Life Village has continued to develop and new ways to partner with Life through Amazon.smile. All while, many lives continuing to be impacted on a daily basis. For all the current news at Life, please read our newsletter.

Holiday Clubs at LIFE are a vital programme that we run throughout school holidays with specific objectives in mind. Firstly, children and youth need a safe space during the day, off the streets and out of the evils that take place in the township communities where they live. Secondly, it is a wonderful opportunity to expose them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Games, Drama, Arts and Crafts and Life skills Education. Worship and Prayer, as well as Bible Teaching are the focus of the day.
The 1st of June was Life Community Services’ annual Mini Olympics. On this day, all the children who attend our Happy Feet pre-schools, LCA learners or our two early child development centres in Thembaletu come together to race in the different age groups. There were close on 500 children that participated and an audience of at least 350 adults plus family members to cheer the athletes. To complete the day of great fun, food and connections we had the mothers’ sprint followed by the fathers’ running. It is our desire to include as many as possible in the activities of the day. This event truly is a day that brings all walks of life together in unity.
Another remarkable event this term was our Back-to-School project, sponsored by Eden Church. Many children received all they needed for their school: Back-packs and stationary. The thanksgiving afterwards has been overwhelming from carers and children.

The George-based non-profit organisation is hosting the second Gatsby Gala Morning at The Wilderness Hotel to raise funds for its work with orphaned and vulnerable children in the area.
Guests will have the opportunity to hear from Mrs SA contender, Gela Le Roux, an award-winning South African actor, Greg Kriek. There will also be a prize for the best-dressed guest.
