Holiday Clubs at LIFE are a vital programme that we run throughout school holidays with specific objectives in mind. Firstly, children and youth need a safe space during the day, off the streets and out of the evils that take place in the township communities where they live. Secondly, it is a wonderful opportunity to expose them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Games, Drama, Arts and Crafts and Life skills Education. Worship and Prayer, as well as Bible Teaching are the focus of the day.
This year’s theme centred around the scripture from Matthew 6:22 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where rust and moth destroy and where thieves break in to steal but lay up for yourselves TREASURES IN HEAVEN where rust and moth cannot destroy and where thieves cannot break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”
Pirate Pete sailed in on his Pirate Ship, seeking co-workers (pirates) to join him on his daily mission of accumulating riches, gold and wealth. But nothing he did or said, could lure the LIFE children onto his pirate ship and they would not succumb to gathering up treasures on earth. They chose the wonderful treasures of the Kingdom of God, and eventually Pete realised that love, joy and peace would be a better choice to bring fulfilment in his life
