Her development had also been affected as a result of fetal alcohol syndrome, which is a common occurrence in impoverished communities.
We immediately set to work on Gracie’s rehabilitation. Staff members taught her how to walk and we organized several hospital visits to resolve her health problems. For Gracie’s safety, she was removed from her biological family and placed in a loving foster home. She now attends a special needs school and is making good progress. Gracie continues to attend our programmes and is a blessing to everyone who meets her.
